Some of our favorite venues feature royal ballrooms, architectural details, and grand entrances that every bride dreams of.  These spaces are fitting for elegant weddings and sophisticated corporate events.  But where do you host a blazing NASCAR inspired party?  Nowhere other than the Atlanta Motor Speedway,of course!  Our engines were running as we vigorously designed the race track with NASCAR themed decor and accessories.  The highlight of the evening was the arrival of former NASCAR driver, Richard Petty! Hey, who says that we can't work and have a little fun! Here are pictures from the evening showcasing our event design

YES Gives Back This Holiday Season

The reason for the season is often lost in the planning of parties, baking of pies, and shopping during the wee hours of the morning.  Your Event Solution took a moment last weekend to remember the real reason that we all should celebrate this holiday season.  We loaded our trucks, filled our tanks, and headed to the Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, to give back to the men and women of the 20th Operations Support Squadron.  YES donated a holiday reception on December 3 to those serving our country and their families!  Amazing Casino Events, a division of Your Event Solution, supplied interactive casino games, like blackjack and roulette, which entertained the guests all evening.  By the end of the night, it was sure that everyone had a fun and memorable time, and we were beyond ecstatic that we were able to say "Thank You" in our own special way.

Buffet Design Tips for Your Holiday Party

You’ve planned your theme, décor elements, even what you’ll be wearing to the holiday party that you're hosting.  You’ve passed your menu requests along to the caterers and all they need to do is set up the food before the party begins.  Wait.  Where will they be placing the food?  On a rectangular table adorned with white hotel linens?  Your kitchen counter?  The buffet set-up should not be neglected, but also be a significant part of the holiday party design. Here are a few tips that will help you create a buffet design that complements your holiday party decorations.

1  Use Food as a Décor Element.  When planning your menu, consider your theme.  Think about the colors and scents of the foods and use this as a starting point for designing your buffet.  Determine what can go on trays, in bowls, or freely sit on the table as part of the display, such as seasonal fruits and vegetables.
2  Use Natural Elements.  Designing your buffet table this holiday season can be  inexpensive.  Simple walk outside and gather pine cones, acorns, pine needles, holly tree leaves and berries, or other backyard gems.  Place these items in clear cylinder vases with water and a floating candle for a simple, yet elegant design.
Pine needles and cranberries in cylinder vases.

3  Alternate Heights and Sizes of Decor Displays.  To add visual interest to your buffet, use decor accessories of various heights and sizes.  This creates a dimensional design that is appealing and unique.
4  Elevate Food and Decor Accessories With Objects.  Be creative and use objects other than buffet serving trays to display your food.  Elevate foods and decor accessories on boxes wrapped with Christmas wrapping paper, books, small wooden tables, or anything else that complements your holiday party event design.
Buffet tables with a unique display of small wooden tables holding cylinder vases with floating candles.
5  Tie In Elements From Other Components of Your Event Design.  Drawing a blank when designing you buffet table?  Consider what other elements you've used in other aspects of the holiday party design and incorporate those things into your buffet table display.  Be sure that the elements do not clash or outshine other decor components, unless your buffet table is the focal point of the space.

Votives and Candles

Do you want to accent the event space with warm lighting to complete your design?  Consider adding votives around your centerpieces, along the bar, and on the buffets for a subtle lighting effect.

Spandex Buffet Table Covers

Embellish ordinary buffet tables with a sophisticated spandex cover for a more appealing look.  Choose from a variety of colors to complement your theme!

Entranceway Accessories

When designing your event, don’t forget about the entrance of your venue.  Your guests will be pleasantly surprised when they arrive and find that you’ve welcomed them with a grandiose entrance created with festive displays and florals or lanterns hanging from shepherd hooks on each side of the entranceway.

Guests Lounge

After eating, drinking, and dancing, you would like to provide a space for your guests to sit and mingle.  Consider creating a lounge area for your guests to get off of their feet! Couches, chairs, banquettes, tables, and other furniture accessories are available for rent to create a lounge area at your holiday event.

Linens and Chair Covers

A must-have for any event design are quality linens and chair covers.  Instantly, the design of the space is conformed by adding that sophisticated touch.  These are great for any holiday affair that will be serving dinner.

Chargers and Napkins
An easy way to complete the design of your guests tables is by adding chargers and napkins.  These simple items add a dimension to your table design that would otherwise feel empty if they were not featured on the tables.  Great for holiday dinners!

Let us know how we can help you complete your event planning list this holiday season!

Host a Casino Party with a Theme for Your Next Special Event

Casino themed parties are one of the most interactive events to host as your guests are engaged with gaming, music, and mingling! To take it up a notch, consider incorporating a theme into your party for an extra dose of fun! Themed parties, from the traditional Old Las Vegas style to sexy Speakeasy,  are creative themes to get your guests to join in the festivities of the night.

Below we are featuring a Western themed casino party that our team designed.  When planning the design of the event, we used our creativity to totally embrace the western theme.  This casual party was created with everything from the entranceway to the bar design in mind.  We loved that the client even asked that our dealers came dressed the part!

Decor elements included red, blue, and white tones embellished with Western decor accessories.  The DJ booth was adorned with a checkered red and white linen with a denim overlay.  The DJ even participated by wearing Western attire! The wooden bar was decorated with wooden wagon wheels and a suspended wooden sign that read "Deadwood Saloon." The entranceway and stair display included decor elements such as bales of hay, blooming florals positioned in cowboy boots, and wooden barrels.

So the next time that you consider hosting a casino themed party, do not stop there!  Consider a fun theme to surprise your guests! For more casino theme ideas, visit Amazing Casino Events' website, a division of Your Event Solution.

Trends From Bridal Fashion Week to Incorporate into Your Wedding Design

From the bridal shows featured at the  Couture: Bridal Fashion Week, the world discovered the latest bridal fashion from the most popular designers in the the bridal industry, for the upcoming seasons.  Although we didn't attend, we stayed abreast of all the latest coverage from this past weekend at this high fashion event in New York!

When we meet with our bride's to discuss their wedding designs, we always ask if they've chosen their dress.  Usually they have, or they have a pretty good idea of the style that want.  Believe it or not, this helps us with their event design! Why?  Because their dress tells us about their personality and their taste in design, additional to the hundreds of cutouts that they bring in to us.   Bridal Fashion Week  played this same role! Not only have we seen several gowns across the web that we adore but instead of critiquing the gowns from a fashion  aspect, we reflected on them from an event designer point of view.  We are here to tell you how trends from these modish gowns can be incorporated into your wedding design.

Event Spotlight: A Shabby Chic Backyard Garden Theme

Are you planning the details of your next unique event?  You're probably considering what type of flowers you will feature on the guests tables, the number of linens you will need, and even if they should be satin or pintuck? These are all details that you should be addressing, but here is a question to ponder.  Have you considered the design of every aspect of the event space?  The guests entrance?  The DJ booth?  The buffet, dessert, and beverage stations?  All of these areas, and more, are part of the event that should not be left out when planning.  It is important to consider every aspect of the event so that the design is unified throughout the entire space and presents a completed look.

Event Design Inspiration: What Unusual Things Inspire You?

A few days ago one of our team member's visited the local farmers market to grab a few things for dinner.  Not only did she leave with ingredients for a tasty meal, but also inspiration for future event design projects.  This is testament of how inspiration can stream from anywhere!  When we meet with our clients to discuss their ideas for their special events, sources of inspiration are always revealed.  Everything from a quilt dressed on the bed of a bride's best friend to a party scene from a client's favorite movie,  has served as a source of inspiration for past events that YES has designed.  In this case,  a few unusual fruit and vegetables aroused our creative appetite.

Alternatives to the Tangled Themed Sky Lanterns

Disney's Tangled is a favorite amongst  kids of all ages, parents, and even brides! YES has received several requests from brides-to-be looking to incorporate the ever so popular sky lanterns from the movie sensation into their wedding day. This decor element, also known as wish lanterns, are paper lanterns that contain a small candle, which once lit, heats the air in the lantern and causes it to rise. Although very beautiful when they are illuminated in the sky, we're not  huge fans of the sky lanterns because of their potential environmental hazards. We love to accommodate our brides with their requests, so here are a few alternatives that we suggest that are just as effective and charming as the release of the sky lanterns.
